You’ll indulge in a delicious afternoon tea for two featuring assorted finger sandwiches, scrumptious cakes, homemade scones with jam and cream, alongside your choice of freshly brewed tea or coffee.

Served in Lumley Castle’s stylish Library Bar and Black Knight Restaurant, this truly is an afternoon dining experience with a difference. Warm yourself by a roaring fire in winter, or take a take a stroll around the stunning grounds in summer. Whenever you choose to go, you’ll be sure to have a memorable time at this magnificent monument to a bygone era.

Your voucher is valid for 9 months from the date of issue, while government restrictions apply in relation to Covid-19 we are offering free extensions on all experiences so you can take your experience when the time is right.

What happens on the day?

On arrival at Lumley Castle, you’ll be greeted by staff and shown to your table in either the Library Bar or Black Knight Restaurant (subject to availability), where you’ll enjoy your afternoon tea of assorted finger sandwiches, homemade fresh scones with jam and cream, cakes, as well as your choice of either tea or coffee.

Lumley’s stylish Library Bar offers comfortable surroundings to dine in, with a log fire in the winter to add to the cosy atmosphere. Or perhaps you’ll find yourselves in the Black Knight Restaurant, an elegant setting with subtle lighting and lavish furnishings. Whichever one you dine in, you’ll enjoy a sensational setting in which to experience your afternoon tea for two.

Participant guidelines

  • Under 16s must be accompanied by a full paying adult
  • The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary 


Available seven days a week. Date restrictions may apply.

We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow up to 2 hours for your tea. Bookings can be made from 15.00 to 17.00.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.

How it works

All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
