"Such a treat!"

My husband and I recently celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary and afternoon tea at Ruthin Castle was gifted us by my Mum. What a fantastic afternoon we had. Ruthin Castle is a stunning place. The teatime treats were delicious! We savoured every morsel. The service was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. We had picked a beautiful sunny day. With rhododendrons in bloom and peacocks roaming freely on the grounds, it was made more special. I highly recommend this experience.

"Lovely setting"

This was a delightful place to spend some time - both outside and in. We were served by a very obliging waitress, who produced lemon slices for my tea and offered to take a photograph of us. Her photo was good. The tea was lovely and the ambiance good.

"Very Nice"

We had afternoon tea in the Library at Ruthin Castle. It is very elegant calm and a pleasing place to visit. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and provided us with tea and coffee to suit our requirements. The food was also very pleasant and appetising.

"Pleasant experience"

Overall a nice experience. It was a beautiful day, which is great for this location so you can enjoy the surroundings. Service was fine and friendly and the library bar was lovely (though some of the furniture was a little worn). The afternoon tea itself was fine, but not as good as we've had elsewhere and nothing special. The scones did not seem homemade and one of the cakes was quite dry. The bara brith mentioned on the voucher never materialised so no 'welsh twist' as promised.
