The Silverstone Museum is an immersive visitor attraction which celebrates the past, present and future of Silverstone and British motor racing. Over 60 hands-on exhibits give visitors the opportunity to try out a variety of activities.
In addition to the hands-on fun, the museum features some of the most iconic cars and bikes that have played a part in the 70-year history of Silverstone including Mansell’s iconic “Red 5”, an E.R.A from the first ever Grand Prix and Barry Sheene’s 1979 Suzuki motorbike.
Kids will be able to climb into a replica Grand Prix car, practice their skills as an RAF pilot and try commentating on a race. A thrilling immersive film show – the ultimate lap of Silverstone – brings together some of the circuit’s most famous racing moments and is the perfect way to round off each visit inside the museum. There’s something for the whole family to enjoy!
Step outside the rear of the museum and onto the old race track and catch a glimpse of the action on the current circuit. Take your time and have some refreshments in the café where you can sit overlooking the circuit. This is a great experience that everyone will enjoy.

What happens on the day?
On arrival you’ll be welcomed and shown through to the beginning of The Silverstone Museum. This brand-new, family-friendly attraction offers the chance to experience the history of British motor racing like never before. With state-of-the-art technology, interactive displays and iconic cars to see, there’s something to appeal to every age range here.
Your experience will culminate in an unforgettable immersive show. Experience what it’s like to be amongst the fast and the furious with a ‘lap’ around Silverstone, surrounded by iconic cars and motor racing heroes. A real adventure, it’s the perfect way to end a brilliant family outing on a high.
There is a full procedure to ensure that guests safety comes first, including regular cleaning, one way systems & individually stylus’s for each guest so that you can enjoy the touch screens technology safely.
Participant guidelines
- Your voucher is valid for two adults and two children
- Under 16s must be accompanied by a full paying adult
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary
Availability
The experience is available seven days a week until September. Please check the website for winter opening times from September onwards.

Dates of events may be subject to change - any bookers will be notified at time events are confirmed.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow 2 to 3 hours for the full experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

How it works
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
