What happens on the day?
On arrival at the riding centre, you’ll be met by your instructor and kitted out in all the necessary riding gear before being given a full briefing including safety procedures and techniques for handling your horse.
Then it’s time to mount your horse as you spend time learning the basics of riding from within the safety of the riding centre. Your instructor will teach how to position yourself in the saddle and hold the reins before you give a little kick to signal to your horse that you want to go forward. You’ll also learn how to move left and right and come to a controlled stop and get your balance at walk and jog paces.
At the end of your lesson, you’ll head out to spend the rest of your ride in the New Forest countryside before returning to the riding centre
