Combine stunning views with history taking to the skies in this Motor Glider Flight of the Beautiful North Wales Coast.
After a short introduction to the controls from your BGA qualified instructor, you’ll have the opportunity to fly the aircraft yourself. From take-off, you’ll head north towards the coast, gliding over the seaside towns of Prestatyn and Rhyl before following the coast to The Great Orme, Llandudno. If the weather permits, you’ll go round the mountains to Bangor and the Menai Straights, before heading back for a safe landing.
Along the way, you’ll spot a number of majestic castles which are of notable interest in addition to stunning views over the mountains and lakes of Snowdonia.

What happens on the day?
On arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed by the team and meet your BGA qualified instructor. They’ll show you how the controls of the aircraft work as well as give you a demonstration, before giving you the opportunity to fly the aircraft yourself. Along the way, you’ll experience breath-taking views including seaside towns Prestatyn and Rhyl as well as The Great Orme in Llandudno.
Participant guidelines
- Under 18’s need parental/guardian consent
- Maximum weight: 16 stone
- Participants should be in reasonable health
- Disabled access is good
- Spectators are welcome to wait at the airfield while you take your flight
- The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary according to location
Availability
Your voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Please book and take your experience before the expiry date.
The experience is available Wednesday to Sunday inclusive. Exclusions will apply.
We recommend you book at least four weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow a up to a full day for the full experience as activity is weather dependant
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.

How it works
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
