Anne Hathaway’s Cottage is where Shakespeare’s wife lived when she was young, a spacious cottage with extensive gardens and grounds. Containing many family items and furniture from Anne’s time, you can walk through the cottage’s rooms and halls and imagine a young William and Anne during their youthful courtship. Wandering outside you can take in nine acres of beautiful gardens and orchards, carefully maintained by the Shakespeare Trust.
At the Cottage Garden Café, you’ll enjoy a light lunch, including the homemade soup of the day, sandwiches, cakes and a pot of tea or coffee - the perfect end to a Shakespearian pilgrimage.

What happens on the day?
On arrival at Anne Hathaway’s Cottage your time will be yours to use as you please, strolling through the rooms and gardens at your leisure while taking in all there is to see. If you fancy a further walk you can enjoy a pleasant, well-signed footpath between the cottage and the hamlet of Shottery.
When you find yourself in the mood for refreshment you can swing into the nearby Cottage Garden Café for a light lunch, coupled with a pot of tea or coffee.

The Cottage Garden Café is open from 10.00 to 16.00

Please allow 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes to enjoy Anne Hathaway's Cottage plus 1 hour for lunch.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
