Malton enjoys some of the UK’s finest crab, razorclams, monkfish and lobster, and this Yorkshire Seafood Cookery Course at the Malton Cookery School offers you the chance to work with exceptional ingredients favoured by top chefs.
You’ll learn invaluable skills, including de-scaling and filleting, plus the techniques to make the most of a fine catch. This relaxed day includes a mix of demonstrations and hands-on cooking, leaving you feeling confident about serving beautiful fish and seafood dishes at home.
Your experienced chef and teacher will take you through gorgeous dishes and classic sauces including pan-fried sea trout with hollandaise, plaice goujons with butter sauce, and razor clams with chorizo, before rounding things off with a demo of an impressive Plateau de fruits de mer. Tuck into the dishes you’ve made with a glass of wine, and head home with plenty of fantastic newfound knowledge.

What happens on the day?
When you arrive at the Malton Cookery School you will begin at 10.00 when you meet your tutor Gilly Robinson and the rest of your class. Learn to cook the finest fish and shellfish the British seas have to offer, including lobster, crab, razorclams, monkfish and more.
You will learn lots of useful tips and techniques that you can take back to your own kitchen, like how to fillet and de-scale. The class will wrap up around 16.00 when the class will be able to tuck into everything you have made with a glass of wine.

Classes are available on selected dates throughout the year.
We recommend you book at least four to six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.
Please allow approximately 6 hours for the whole experience.
What about insurance?
The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
A cancellation indemnity, subject to terms, is included with every voucher.
How it works
All you have to do is pay for the experience you wish to purchase and we’ll send a voucher and booking information to you or directly to the recipient, then you just need to check the info and book your experience.
